The JPO Induction Training Task Force comprising a few key selected Donors and UN agencies has been set up by the UNSSC further to recommendation n. 4 of the 6th Meeting of National Recruitment Services and UN Organisations on the Associate Expert/JPO/APOs Final Report. Aim of the Task Force The aim of this Task Force is to encourage Donor governments that are currently not providing induction training to explore the possibility of doing so, in line with the best practices put in place by some Donors on a national/multinational level through courses such as those organized by the United Nations System Staff College. Specific tasks More specifically, the College in collaboration with the members of the Task Force, will engage in: - Coordinating existing induction training courses for JPOs/APOs/AEs organized at a national (Donors) or multinational level (UNSSC); - Underlining to Donors the importance of the learning and training aspect in the JPOs/APOs/AEs schemes and encourage them to engage in UN induction training; - Identifying best practices and lessons learned with regard to induction training courses. Mean (Community of Practice) To this end, this Community of Practice (CoP) has been set up by the College to serve as a web sharing space for both Donors and UN agencies in order to be able to: a) share knowledge on best practices and lessons learned on UN system induction training b) feed discussions on issues related to orientation training into the UN system c) build partnership and identifying potential synergies d) discover and implement a common or complementary approach towards learning/training Final Outcome The findings of these discussions will be eventually shared at the next 7th Meeting of National Recruitment Services and UN Organisations on the Associate Expert/JPO/APOs which will be held in Brussels in the month of April.
